This morning the children at Blackbrook Nursery have enjoyed making some gloop to mark make and practice name writing!
We found our own name cards by identifying our picture and by talking about the initial letters from our names. We then collected a tray, mark making tools, some cornflour and water and we were ready for the fun to begin!
We added the water, slowly mixing in the cornflour and instantly began making marks. We used a spoon, peg, straw and our hands to make different marks. We talked about the letters in our names and practiced the phonic sounds too, developing literacy skills. The children enjoyed watching and copying the marks and shapes Nikki and Angela made and enjoyed learning new ways to make marks, such as blowing through straws.
